"The Next Generation in Surge Protection!"

Theon 120 VAC Surge Suppressor/Filter With GTT Ground Transient Protection

The next generation in point of protection surge suppression has arrived! The new Theon 120 VAC surge suppressor offers the only ETL recognized 3-wire surge suppressor available on the market today.

When it comes to protecting mission critical equipment, no other product can offer a true three-line defense against damaging transients:

  • Theon 120 VAC Surge Suppressor/FilterUtilizes a multi-stage, non-degrading surge suppression circuit that provides 60,000 amps of surge suppression
  • Eliminates damaging ground transients
  • Provides protection from proximity lightning strikes, load switching transients, and other sources of spikes and surges, both internal and external
  • Available for 120 VAC, single phase applications with maximum continuous current of 20A
  • Response to surge conditions is less then 1 nanosecond
  • EMI/RFI filtering from 0.1HZ to 100MHz
  • Power conditioning maintains clean power +/- 15% of nominal power input.
  • Hard wired and line cord and NEMA 4X fibreglass pre- mounted enclosure models are available

The Theon provides both normal mode (L-N) and common mode (L-G, N-G) surge suppression as well as ground transient protection. This feature is extremely important when protecting sensitive equipment that is microprocessor based. The Theon is ideal for computers, PLC’s, instrumentation, fire protection and security systems. Research has indicated that over 80% of microprocessor malfunction or damage occurs from transients entering the ground termination of this type of equipment. Other products that provide only normal mode or common mode protection do nothing to prevent ground transients. Since the majority of surge suppression devices depend on ground or neutral to discharge surges to, normal or common mode suppression devices may return transients right back into the very equipment they were designed to protect, via the ground termination. The ground transient termination circuit prevents this from occurring and enhances the performance of the Theon’s surge suppression circuitry.

Theon 120 VAC Surge Suppressor/FilterThe EMI\RFI filtering circuit has been designed to eliminate the effects of undesirable noise that can affect equipment performance. Surge suppression alone will not provide protection against noise transients that are of amplitudes below the clamping level of the surge suppression circuit. These transients can cause unstable system performance and can over time, cause premature aging of, or damage to sensitive components. The Theon filtering circuit has been designed to prevent these undesirable noise components from entering protected equipment, and eliminates the problems caused by low amplitude frequency based transients.

When it comes to protecting expensive, mission critical equipment and processes don’t settle for partial protection. Install the Vortex Technologies Theon and be confident that the best point of protection product available on the market protects your investment.
