Phase Monitors-Motor and Pump Protection
Motor and pump
protection is critical to maintaining process uptime. In our mission to provide
total protection packages from service entrance surge suppression, point of
protection for sensitive and mission critical equipment to the cutting edge
technology of the IL-GTT Ground Transient Terminator. Vortex Technologies
offers the best in single and
three-phase monitors and protection devices.
Model 77C is
a fully programmable electronic overload relay designed to monitor single-phase
systems. It can be used as a stand-alone product or the communication port can
be used to form a network and monitor the motors from a laptop or desktop
computer or other control system. Applications include conveyor systems, HVAC
equipment, pumps, saws, grinders, and other single-phase electric motors.
The Model 77C includes a built-in current transformer (CT) which will
handle applications from 2-90 Amps. An external current transformer can be
implemented to handle applications up to 700 Amps. The following 15 parameters
can be viewed from the three digit alphanumeric LED or from a network computer:
low voltage set point, high voltage set point, CT size/Loops setting, over
current trip point, under current trip point, trip class (5, 10, 25, 20, 30, or
linear), Rapid Cycle Timer (RD1), Overload Restart Delay (RD2), Under-load
Restart Delay (RD3), number of starts after an overload (manual or automatic),
RS485 address, Number of restarts after an under-load fault, under-load trip
delay, linear over current trip delay, restart delay time waits (RD2/RD3). Both
the L1-L2 voltage and the line current can also be viewed while the motor is
running.
The Model 77C can be used with an optional RS485 module allowing up to
99 Model 77C or Model 777 units to be linked together. From the computer, an
operator can control the motor, view the operating parameters, or log
information. Software and RS485 module sold separately.
The
Model 460 is designed to protect 3-phase loads from damaging power
conditions. The 460ıs wide
operating range combined with UL and CE compliance provides protection for a
wide variety of applications.
A
unique micro-controller based voltage and phase sensing circuit constantly
monitors the three phase voltages to detect harmful power line conditions. When
a harmful condition is detected, the Motor Saver's output relay is deactivated
after a specified trip delay. The output relay reactivates after power line
conditions return to an acceptable level for a specified amount of time
(Restart Delay). The trip and restart delays prevent nuisance tripping due to
rapidly fluctuating power line conditions
The Model 460 automatically senses whether it is connected to a 190 to 240V 60
Hz system, a 440-480V 60 Hz system, or a 380 to 416V 50 Hz system. An
adjustment is provided to set the nominal line voltage from 190-240 or 380-480
VAC. Other adjustments include a 1-30 second trip delay, a 1-500 second restart
delay, and a 2-8% voltage unbalance trip point adjustment.

after an overload, unbalance, single phasing (manual or), RS485 address, number
of restarts after an under-load fault, under-load trip delay, and ground fault

voltage and average current can also be viewed while the motor is running.
The Model 777 is equipped with a RS485 port allowing up to 99 Model 777, 77C,

control the motor, view the operating parameters, view the last faults by time
& date, or log information. Software and RS485 module sold separately.
